Mcmanus (john A.) Elementary School Description

McManus (John A.) Elementary School is a public school located in Chico, California. It serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade and has an enrollment of approximately 500 students. The school was established in 1965 and named after John A. McManus, who served as the first principal of the school for over 25 years.

The mission of McManus Elementary is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth while fostering respect for self, others, and our community. The staff at McManus strive to create an atmosphere where all children can reach their full potential by providing quality instruction with high expectations for student achievement.

McManus offers a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of its diverse student population including special education services, English language development classes, gifted/talented programs, music classes, physical education classes, art classes and more. In addition to these core offerings there are also numerous extracurricular activities available such as sports teams, clubs and other enrichment opportunities throughout the year.

At McManus Elementary we believe that every child deserves access to a quality education that will prepare them for success in life beyond elementary school. We strive to ensure that each student receives individualized attention so they can reach their highest potential academically and socially within our supportive learning environment!
