Modoc High School is a public high school located in Alturas, California. Established in 1887, it is the oldest high school in Modoc County and serves students from grades 9-12. The school has an enrollment of approximately 500 students and offers a variety of academic programs including Advanced Placement courses, college preparatory classes, career technical education (CTE) courses, and special education services.
The campus features modern facilities such as computer labs, science laboratories, library media centers, art studios and athletic fields. Students have access to a wide range of extracurricular activities including sports teams for football, basketball, volleyball and track & field; clubs such as student government and yearbook; performing arts groups like choir and band; outdoor recreation opportunities through camping trips; community service projects with local organizations; leadership development programs; and more.
