Wetumpka High School is a public high school located in Wetumpka, Alabama. Established in 1883, the school has been providing quality education to its students for over 130 years. With an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students from grades 9-12, Wetumpka High School offers a wide variety of academic and extracurricular activities that help prepare students for college and beyond.
The curriculum at Wetumpka High School includes core classes such as English, math, science and social studies as well as electives like art, music and physical education. The school also provides Advanced Placement (AP) courses which allow students to earn college credit while still in high school. In addition to academics, the school offers numerous clubs and organizations including student government, National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).
Outside of the classroom, Wetumpka High School boasts several athletic teams competing in football, basketball, baseball/softball and track & field among others. The school's mascot is the Indian Chief with colors being red & white. Additionally there are many other extracurricular activities available such as band & chorus programs along with theater productions throughout the year.
