Us Jones Elementary School is a public school located in Demopolis, Alabama. It serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade and has an enrollment of approximately 500 students. The school was founded in 1887 and is named after Us Jones, the first African American to serve on the city council of Demopolis.
The mission of Us Jones Elementary School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence, personal growth, and responsible citizenship. The school offers a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of all its students including special education services, gifted/talented classes, English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction, and advanced placement courses for high-achieving students.
Us Jones Elementary School also provides extracurricular activities such as sports teams, clubs like chess club or robotics club, student government opportunities, field trips throughout the year and more. In addition to these activities there are many community events held at the school each year such as holiday celebrations and fundraisers which help support various projects around campus.
At Us Jones Elementary School we strive to create an atmosphere where every student can reach their full potential while developing strong character traits that will last them into adulthood.
