Decatur High School Description

Decatur High School is a public high school located in Decatur, Alabama. Founded in 1891, it is the oldest high school in Morgan County and one of the oldest schools in the state. The school serves students from grades 9-12 and has an enrollment of approximately 1,400 students.

The mission of Decatur High School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth for all its students. It offers a wide range of courses including Advanced Placement classes as well as career technical education programs such as automotive technology, cosmetology, culinary arts, health science technology and welding. In addition to academics, there are numerous extracurricular activities available at Decatur High School such as athletics (football, basketball, baseball/softball), band & choir performances and clubs like National Honor Society or Future Business Leaders of America.

At Decatur High School we strive to create an atmosphere where every student can reach their full potential while developing strong character traits that will help them succeed beyond graduation day. We believe that our commitment to providing quality educational opportunities combined with our dedication to fostering positive relationships between staff members and students will ensure success for years to come!
