Matthew’s mother found this area when vacationing with her family in the 1950s. After numerous family visits and getting married, Jim and Shirley Mogan, Matthew’s parents, took the leap of faith and purchased a motel on West Beach in Gulf Shores January 1975. Their motel business grew into a condo rental and association management company until they sold and retired in January of 2005. Matthew was raised in Gulf Shores and graduated from Foley High School in 1988. He has worked in the "family business" almost his whole life. After graduating from college, he received his Alabama real estate license in 1994 and then his broker's license in 1996. He received his Florida broker's license in 2002.
