Teasdale UT Home for Sale
As if born from Edward Abbey's imaginings, this Buddhist Retreat emerges from an unspoiled landscape of burly lava boulders and wind-sculpted juniper trees. Shaped like a Buddha seated in meditation, with left leg bent in and right leg draped forward, the home faces eastward toward the rising sun over the high alpine desert of Grover, Utah. A blanketing panorama of Capitol Reef, Grover Valley, and Boulder Mountain wraps around her shoulders. The architects from Imbue Design utilized native volcanic rock for the exterior gabion walls that surround the base of the home, allowing the natural environment to rise up like a stony skin, seamlessly merging structure with site. With form and function in mind from the outset, the rock also absorbs and dissipates heat, passively cooling and heating the interior. A 93-foot long ipe hardwood deck serves as a rooftop, projecting the observer out into a sky view of nature's vast display, allowing the mind to empty itself of clutter. From the deck, a stairway descends into an intimate outdoor space, sheltered from sun and weather, where one is back at earth-level with the terrain. Both private and protected, the main entry of the home is located here. Inside, a red spiral staircase serves as the spine of the building's anatomy, leading to the two distinct "legs" of the home. The left leg houses the primary bedroom and office, while the living room, kitchen, and second bedroom occupy the right leg. The minimalist interior, with its museum white walls and gray concrete floors, directs one's attention outward. A 24-foot sliding glass wall disappears, further blurring the boundaries between the built and the natural, infusing the ever-present landscape into every little ritual of daily life. Here, nature is not just a backdropit is a constant companion. A short walk from the main residence, you'll find a second dwelling tucked into the land, also oriented to the east. Like its counterpart, this private guest retreat was designed for solitude and contemplation, and engagement with the surroundings. Just as clean-lined and modern in aesthetic, the space includes a bedroom, bath, open kitchen and living room, and wall-to-wall covered patio. Rooted in principles of sustainability, this property was designed to be effortless, energy-efficient, and gentle on the local habitat. It is a place of refuge for the residents and the resident wildlife alike. It is a place where mindfulness is entwined with nature's cycles and seasons. If you've been seeking a way to deepen your own practice, let this rugged paradise climb inside you. Much like the current owners, given time, you too will find yourself embodying the stillness and peace of this sanctuary.

Ron Molen moved many times throughout his life, and this is one of the homes he built for himself. I've always admired homes designed by architects for their own use; they often boast superior craftsmanship, choice locations, and unique features that set them apart. This personal residence is no exceptionthis is the premiere lot in this planned development, sitting on just over a third of an acre. This is also the largest Molen home I've seen, and it's more than double the size of most of his other homes in the neighborhood. Ron spared no expense in selecting finishes and incorporating his signature design elements into this home. The iconic conversation pit, striking aggregate floors, and distinctive rough-sawn wood walls are all quintessential Molen features that define this space. However, what truly distinguishes this property is the incredible outdoor area. The aggregate flooring seamlessly extends from the interior to the poolside, creating a cohesive environment and a fluid transition between living, playing, and entertaining. Positioned on a prime corner lot, the expansive backyard was clearly designed to be a focal point of the living experience, offering a perfect setting for intimate and communal gatherings alike. Ron's architectural expertise extended beyond the house itself; his landscapes were equally well-conceived and beautifully executed. This property has maintained the timelessly cool, mid-century modern elements that Ron envisioned, while updates to the primary bath make it functional and stylish for contemporary living. While some modernizations have been made, there's still room for the next owner to add their personal touch and make this home truly their own. Whether you're seeking a spacious residence with a pedigree, or looking for single-level living with the option to rent out the basement, this property offers something rare in today's market. It's the perfect blend of size, style, and architectural heritage, tucked into one of themostunique subdivisions around. Lower level is ready for a great possible rental or mother in law.

This home is unmistakably a Don Earl design, instantly recognizable by how it harmonizes with its surroundings and is perfectly positioned to capture the breathtaking views. For Don, the view was always a central focus of the home. A self-taught architect, he left his mark on hundreds of homes across the Salt Lake Valley, with his most celebrated designs emerging during the 1960s. He drew inspiration from the architectural giants of his time, translating those influences into beloved homes that remain iconic in Utah. Remarkably, Don achieved all of this despite losing his eyesight by age 50. He is, perhaps, the most accomplished architectin the state. This particular home is a standout. Upon entering on the main level, you are greeted by an indoor water feature, with terrazzo pads seemingly floating across the water and continuing onto the distinctive floating staircase. The upstairs is the true focal point of the home, where a floor-to-ceiling wall of glass frames spectacular southwest views that stretch endlessly across the valley. When the current owners purchased the property, Don Earl personally returned to assist with the kitchen remodel, demonstrating his deep connection to the home and his exceptional recall of its design. The glass-enclosed kitchen flows effortlessly into the outdoors, where a sprawling patio and hot tub create the perfect space for outdoor dining and entertaining. The low-maintenance yard is surrounded by native, mature vegetation, allowing the natural beauty of the setting to shine through. Lovingly cared for by the current owners since 1992, this home is now available for the first time in over 30 years, offering a rare opportunity for a new family to create their own memories and continue the legacy of this remarkable property.

Salt Lake City UT Home for Sale
The Frances Edna Johnson Darger home, designed by Dick Jackson of Jackson & Jackson, is more than just a residence; it is a testament to Frances's adventurous spirit and artistic vision. This mid-century prize, perhaps subtly influenced by the works of Frank Lloyd Wright, reflects the inspiration she drew from visiting his homes. Enamored by the rich warmth of reddish Roman brick, she selected it to adorn the exterior, perfectly complementing the long, low lines of its ranch-style architecture. Being tall herself, Frances envisioned a space with tall ceilings; the shed roofline achieved this while simultaneously framing the sweeping valley views below. The carport, integrated into the natural slope of the lot, anchors the home nicely. Intent on maximizing convenience, Frances ensured that the home included a main-floor laundry area, complete with a linen cabinet tucked neatly behind the washer and dryer-eliminating the need for trips downstairs. The kitchen is a model of mid-century efficiency, with custom cabinetry for china and linens, along with pull-out worktops at varying heights to accommodate any task. The floating staircase, a bold statement of the era, remains a beloved architectural centerpiece. The unique display window above the stairs offers a glimpse of the home's character, even from the street, teasing its blurred lines and angles. Downstairs, one bedroom includes an entire wall of integrated storage, while other rooms are equipped with built-in desks and drawers, all intended to maximize floor space. Frances enlisted her friend, Merline Leaming of Clark Leaming Design, to assist with the interior design. Together, they created a home that is as functional inside as it is beautiful. "There are 9,000 ways to do a room," Merline would say. "If you don't like one, we'll find another." Merline's design expertise is evident throughout the home, including in the distinctive downstairs bar-a beloved feature for entertaining. Frances's husband, meticulously planned and installed lighting throughout the house, ensuring every corner was beautifully illuminated and even wiring extra switches in anticipation of future needs. For nearly 70 years, this home has been at the heart of Frances's life. From her desk in the kitchen, she watched children play in the backyard, penned articles for the local paper, and immersed herself in a world of art, travel, and architecture through her extensive book collection. Despite her vast travels, it was always this home to which she longed to return. This is a special place, rich with history, inspiration, and love. Come and experience for yourself why this extraordinary home has been closely treasured for generations.

When I was a child, I used to watch the adults scanning the sand looking for treasures: lost Roman gold coins or just simply missing keys. I asked my father for a metal detector, but he didn't buy into my passing childhood whims. So, now as an adult, I'm scanning estate sales looking for that elusive Poul Kjaerholm or Florence Knoll furniture piece. But, what really gets me excited is when I find an architect's name on old blueprints inside one of these amazing homes I'm selling. The blueprints for this home have a signature belonging to Dan A. Weggeland. Not much is known of Dan. This is one of his early works, perhaps designed for someone that he knew. This is one of only two residences that I know of by him (the other is on Hillside, just below the Capitol building). He's known to have designed some small commercial projects around Salt Lake City and Ogden, an Indian Housing project in Keyents, Arizona, and a Travel Center Cafe and Lounge in Wyoming. Like most modern homes of its era, this one is very private in front, with an extended stack stone wall. The back of the house is a post and beam construction, framing in walls of windows. Dan's design exhibits a refined minimalism, with intimate spaces that divide the interior. His use of stone and cedar makes this house feel grounded to nature and the energy of the soft modern movement of the Pacific Northwest. The home is designed to take in the valley and city views below. It's been well cared for by the previous and current owners, with a noticeably well-tended garden that extends the living space in both the front and back of the house in the warmer months. Dan Weggeland's talents are not lost on those who appreciate beauty and truly good design. This home is ready for the next stewards who recognize the treasure within its walls.

Provo UT Home for Sale
Architect Lee Knell studied under Louis I Kahn at Arizona State University during his time in the military service. Afterward, he graduated with honors from the University of Utah with an MFA in Architecture. Today, the city of Provo is adorned with private homes that reflect his fusion of high modernism and Japanese sensibilities. High modernism is a form of modernity characterized by steadfast confidence in science and technology as means to reorder our social and natural world. In 1958, Provo's Oak Hills area looked quite different. Only a few homes were scattered about the foothills of this unique landscape, poised to take full advantage of the mountain, city and lake views. This lot, with a dry creek to the side, is full of life-perennial hummingbirds slow the ticking of the clock as they buzz past, signaling the arrival of spring. Their sudden disappearance in early fall hints that temperatures will soon drop. Follow the fawns and witness the fading of their spots or an elder buck releasing his antlers-these moments are all part of your world. This 1959 Sunset Magazine award-winning home was designed with the area's spectacular natural beauty in mind; it considers every aspect of the land. The post-and-beam structure allows light to flow through the clerestory windows from above; it frames the walls of glass that showcase the lake and valley views below. The floating staircase connects each floor and allows for intimate spaces to be divided into multiple areas. When remodeling this home, the owners wanted to stay true to the original spirit of the house. The window frames were kept minimal, the St. Charles cabinets were refinished to look new, and the tiles and paint were kept clean and simple. Little details like the gravel driveway, shaded by tall scrub oaks, and a simple carport create a path to a sanctuary away from it all-a place that you know is special.

When I was young, I wasn't very good at the game of Monopoly. I loved the little car and shoe pieces best. However, over the years I've learned that 90% of billionaires make their fortune through some form of real estate. I love the idea of passive income and how the American Dream can be achieved by people from all walks of life-one rental property at a time. Recently, I've found myself thinking about the idea of time, and how time is on your side with any form of investment. We can only wish that we had purchased a home at market price ten years ago, or picked up some shares in Google stock when they were only a few dollars. Hindsight is 20/20. What I am reminded of is: whatever you buy now, you'll wish you had invested in ten more in ten years. Time is on your side and this is an amazing opportunity to start (or add to) your real estate empire with these wonderful rentals.

They say if you create something for yourself, you tend to do a better job. Well, this Ron Molen home was built for Ron and his family. The residence sits nicely on the sunny view side of the street-the front of the home is private, with an interior courtyard and manicured garden. The back opens to a stunning view of the valley below. This residence boasts a classic wood and brick exterior, balanced by multiple rooflines from the garage and playhouse in front. Inside, the rough-sawn wood slat walls are gone, replaced with beautiful Filipino mahogany timbers and seagrass wallpaper. The family room's vaulted ceiling and mahogany stairwell makes this luxurious home noteworthy-even by the impeccable standards of this famed architect. The iconic Ron Molen conversation pit is now a pass-through that connects the lower level with the main living area. This home has been beautifully taken care of by the previous owners.

This is a beautiful home design by Dana Meier. The green rock walls give the home a solid stance in a forest of 30 foot pines and natural scrub oaks. The floor to ceiling windows at the entry and the entire length of the back wall merges the indoor to outdoor space seamlessly. This is definity a home design for the family in mind, the built-in indoor grill is great for the cold of winter while the kidney shaped pool breathes life with laughter and joy all the summer's day.

Torrey UT Home for Sale
Imagine living in this striking, modern house in Torrey enjoying the view of the rugged red cliffs to the north known as the "Velvet Ridge" from 48 feet of floor-to-ceiling windows. Take in stunning sunsets from the large dining room windows and watch the clouds pass over the two 11,000 foot high mountains nearby. And your guests will marvel at the same great views from their separate guest house. In addition to the main and guest houses, there is a studio/office building, a small workshop, a two-car garage, a greenhouse, a fenced garden, and best of all, a 20' by 40' swimming pool. The buildings are well-insulated and largely maintenance free. Four of the five buildings are prefab, kit homes designed by innovative architect Rocio Romero. Originally from Chile, she received her architecture degree in the U.S. Shortly after that she developed her LV Series of prefab homes with the goal of bringing affordable modern design to the public. She eventually sold well over 100 of her LV homes across the country. Rocio's designs were included in a number of books on prefab homes in the mid-2010s and she was featured in a full-length article in the February 2009 edition of Dwell Magazine. Torrey is a quiet, quaint town in south-central Utah with a small but interesting population. Recently it was cited by MSN.com as the most "shockingly underrated" town in Utah. It serves as the gateway to Capitol Reef National Park a few miles away. The unique geography nearby offers miles and miles of fabulous hiking trails and spectacular vistas. Torrey maintains a small-town feel while presenting a wide range of places to eat and shop. Two of the most popular restaurants are within walking distance of this property.

Salt Lake City UT Home for Sale
In 1967, this home was featured in the Parade of Homes to show case what the future family was excited for. Yet, the design of this home started long ago. As we gather around fires, we told stories of our past from one generation to another. Our ancestors would retire after a long day of hunting and gathering to connect with friends or family around a hearth or central place in the home. While Frank Lloyd Wright focused on creating the heart of the home at the hearth - Architect Ron Molen, who built this inspiring home, went further. Ron Molen felt that there needed to be two inviting factors to gather - a hearth and a conversational pit. As he created this space in his home, it has become a timeless signature piece of his properties to allow people to connect with no other distractions. Being surrounded together in the conversational pit, encouraged people to focus on the views and importance of the day. When this property was built, it was the summer of love, and had features that the futuristic family was excited for. Floating staircases, floor to ceiling windows and beams that span throughout, a low sloping roof line that resembles the split window of a Corvette, and the conversation pit was the perfect place to catch up or relax in front of the tube television or warmth of the fire. It was an exciting time of playing Stickball, street hockey, chalk drawn hopscotch on the sidewalk, and gathering was the center of American life. All centered around being present and without technology. With 4 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a split floor-plan, great room, incredible lighting, and exceptional square footage- you can only dream of a property as unique as this. Consider this property as your next place to connect, enjoy the simplicities of conversation, read a book, nap, or just simply gather your thoughts.

Salt Lake City UT Land Lot for Sale
Price is for lot only. House plans included. For years, I've been telling all my architect friends to build their dream home. Until now, not a single one of them has had the opportunity to design and build something like this. This type of product hasn't existed in this market previously. From the offices of MJSA Architects, this dream home will combine the finest in materials with the craftsmanship and attention to detail of a Swiss watch. My architect/seller tells me he's building the Lamborghini of homes. This will be a new century modern home, deeply rooted inmidcentury design sensibilities, and placed upon a perfectly sited lot. The design all centers around the unobstructed, panoramic valley views. The face of the home will be a modern art piece. Solid, secure, and private. The back will be lined in walls of glass that open like gills to breathe in the scenery. Views will be had from the foothills to the Great Salt Lake in the distant west. A lap pool will offer the perfect angle for stargazing. A designer kitchen, viewing decks, and blurred indoor-outdoor spaces will serve to make this the ultimate entertainer's delight. But, this will be so much more than a bold glass box perched on the side of a hill. This is an architect's dream in the making.

Salt Lake City UT Home for Sale
After receiving his degree from Harvard University in 1931, Architect R. Lloyd Snedaker, FAIA, designed three homes on large adjacent lots on Eleventh Ave. He took the middle lot for his own. Having married the boss's daughter before leaving Boston for Salt Lake City, Lloyd remained mindful of his bride's Massachusetts roots. Thus, he crafted a tight, shingled, New England cottage for her to call home. It was remarked years later that the three neighboring houses didn't necessarily look like the work of the same architect, to which Lloyd replied, "Except for the fact that they all have a trimness to them, I don't see very much resemblance. That pleases me." During more than 30 years in practice, Lloyd was responsible for over 100 private residences in the Intermountain West. He was the architect for major structures on the University of Utah and Utah State University campuses, the complete interior remodeling and restoration of the Utah State Capitol Building, and he served as part of the team that designed and supervised the construction of the Salt Lake City Federal Building. In 1965, he received the high honor of being raised to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. The Cape Cod is a quintessential all-American architectural style, as classic as a polo shirt with its signature embroidered pony. We all know it when we see one, and we're all held sway by the dreamy seaside imagery they conjure. This charming example in the Upper Avenues is no exception. She's a timeless beauty, with a symmetrical exterior that only adds to her curb appeal. From the front, it's a cozy, single story home with a well-manicured front scape and plenty of parking. A visually pleasing double-pitched roof is bridged by the main entrance and centrally located front door and chimney. Some interior walls have been opened up since the home was first constructed to create larger modern spaces and an enhanced flow. The spacious kitchen sits atop a large cellar, perfect for a prepper's pantry of food (or wine, as you will). The back of the home opens up to an expansive, multi-tiered pathway of wild discovery. A private deck off the master suite and a large public deck off the main living area form the upper stage, offering spectacular views of the city and the lush layers of landscape below. A sandstone stairway winds down to the main stage, a wide open green space, enveloped by wildflowers, shrubberies, and trees. Tucked behind the curtain of greenery, is a large vegetable garden and potting shed. It's a botanical wonder in the city, the size and feel of a private park. A love story started it all. Lloyd lured his wife to stay in the west with this very cottage. And here we are, decades later, still swooning over this New England Cape.

Sunny Day Sweepin' the clouds away On my way to where the air is sweet Can you tell me how to get How to get to I find myself humming this tune every time I drive through a Ron Molen subdivision. What can I say? Ron designed the perfect planned communities, and they still stand idyllic in all their original charm. His vision of home and community was a family-centric one, in which kids were free to roam and learn through constant exploration of their surroundings. Indoors, he was utilizing flex spaces before there was even a term for it, to foster "creative family living." Before Wasatch Blvd. existed, this home sat at the base of the foothills of Big Cottonwood Canyon. This Research Homes built community was a utopia of artists and free-thinkers (or hippies, as we like to call them today). Gary Collins and his brother - both artists - used to take the neighborhood kids out to paint the aspens and make art projects in nature. This was a time of great hope, neighborhood stewardship, and aspirations for the future. This home is one of Ron's more Miesian style structures, with ultra clean lines, free from frivolous details or complicated rooflines. The face of the home serves as a wall of privacy between the interior space and the street, with towering 40-foot pines adding to the sense of privacy and peace. The home is enveloped by mature trees and mountain views to the east, with a fully-fenced, private backyard from which to soak it all in. This is a perfect home for someone looking for nature- inspired, single level living, within one of Salt Lake's most unique and architecturally cohesive neighborhoods. The vision is not a lost ideal. Far from it. This is a thriving community that is alive and well, and still filled with hopefulness for its bright future. And, if you just so happen to see Mr. Snuffleupagus here, tell him I said "hi."

A home is defined in the unique collection of memories that hang on your walls. The framed 100-year-old pocket map of Berlin that holds stories of its own, now a treasured part of your space. A turntable playing vintage vinyl albums with songs that feel like they were written with your life in mind. Design is important; the wooden slat walls bringtexture and warmth to this space, the steel-clad fireplace is a bold, brutalist focal point of the front room. There's a hint of wabi-sabi aesthetic in the exposed brick wall next to the sleek, modern kitchen filled with the latest appliances. The contrast of hard and soft works very well in this case, the yin and yang of his and hers. This is your space and a meaningful extension of your style and self embodied in the things you love. This is a wonderful home that was thoughtfully enhancedin a recent remodel. It features a wonderful, large deck and patio space that showcases amazing city and sunset views, and creates a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. Every detail in this home has been updated or improved upon; the attention to detail and impeccable taste of the sellers has created an amazing space not only for them, but for anyone else that wants to be in a thoughtful home that has been treasured and loved.

I was a bright-eye young realtor who must've appeared to have a head full of rocks when I first met Jim Christopher 17 years ago. He was attending one of my open houses and I was boasting the features of this property without realizing that the person I was presenting it to was the very same man who had originally designed the home. A giant in the architectural community, without divulging his identity to me, just left me with a wonderful, knowing smile. This house was constructed in 1960 with cedar cladding that has since matured with the rain and the sun into a soft pale shade of grey. While strong, rugged and dark on the outside, after entering through a dignified blue door, you might be surprised to discover a simple elegance in pure white walls and the soft curvature of egg shaped glass light fixtures. A half wall and floating staircase opens up the comfortable interior space to encourage you to reach out and stretch out your own form, a space that invites you to come as you are. From its first inception as a smaller unit, this house evolved, the walls moved like lungs expanding, breathing in and out to make room for his growing family. With this in mind, the bedrooms are clustered together on the upper floors while the family room rests on the lower level, and connected through those doors, an enormous patio is perched, overlooking the majesty of Millcreek and Mt. Olympus in the distance. This is a soft midcentury modern home that's ready to house love, hopes and dreams for another 60 years.

Another great Mid-Century Modern listing by Mony Ty. An ode to Abinadi. There's nothing I can say to make you feel more vehemently drawn to this home than what you'll feel when you lay your eyes upon it. My lyrical musings can do nothing compared to the wild beauty of the pines, scrub oaks, and delicate maple that frame this home oh so perfectly. Mushroom landscape lights and greenery line the path to the door, where you are greeted by statuesque stacked stone walls that solidly anchor the indoor space to the outdoors. A warm glow hovers just below the roofline from a row of clerestory windows. Inside, timber beams stretch out across the ceiling like frames, resting gently on walls of glass and perfectly preserved walnut panels. A cabin-like warmth is created by all the wood, windows, and trees. The wheat grasscloth paper, without a snag, speaks to the loving way in which this home has been treated. Balance and proportion play a major part in the design of this home. The central kitchen and dining area connect to the grand outdoor entertainment area and pool. Looking out, you see a dense green screen of towering pines surrounding the patio. While facing the home from the back, you see the beautiful symmetry and form of the home, bordered by monumental views of Mt. Olympus to the east. This home was designed to have the privacy in front, and the party in back. The home opens up to nature and the public areas, while protecting the intimacy of the private spaces. This home might be in the best original condition that I've seen. It's clear that both family and furniture were treated with a loving kindness within these walls. Abinadi, I think I love you, and I'm honored to be part of your continuing story.

I dare you to find a place more wild, more untouched, more quintessentiallyAmericanathan the30-milestretch of wilderness once called the "Unknown Mountains." The Henry Mountains, as they're now known, were the last unmapped range in the lower 48 states. Here, the steep, purple domes of the Henrys rise sharply against the barren desert badlands and flat mesas, creating a dramatic contrast that feels almost otherworldly. These mountains, known to geologists the world over, hold geological eccentricities that have been written about in nearly every language. They cradle a mosaic of landforms, ecosystems, and species, where the largest free-roaming, huntable buffalo herd in the nation roams alongside mule deer, coyotes, cougars, bighorn sheep, and an astonishing array of birds. This is a land where the topography thrills as much as the wildlife. Sun-scorcheddeserts and deeply cracked canyons give way to volcanic peaks, cloaked in forests of juniper, pinyon, ponderosa, spruce, aspen, and the ancient bristlecone pine. Natural springs weave like veins through the cooler, wetter elevations. This is a place of contrast and intrigue. For the first time in generations, and likely the last time for generations to come, the historic "Cat Ranch" in the Henrys is being offered to the public. Perched on the northeastern hips of Mount Hillersknown locally as "Middle Mountain"this rare private inholding is a treasure, bordered on three sides by the Mount Hillers Wilderness Study Area. With a year-round creek and irrigation rights for 80 acres, this land is as rich in resources as it is in beauty. The main home, a classic red barndominium, is soTown and Country, you can't help but love her.Clad in corrugated steel with a lofty interior, this home embodies both form and function; when you lock up and leave, you don't have to worryabout a thing. This home was built to endure whatever a frisky wilderness might throw itsway. A spacious, free-standing workshop sits nearby, housing the off-grid utilities thatkeep this haven self-sufficient. But the true allure of this place is the landscape itself. A simple stroll through the old wooden fence into the neighboring orchard will leave you wordless, transportedto a bygone time. A metal cauldron waits in the meadow, ready for evening campfire cooking. Water meanders casually through itschannel, drawing birdsand deer to linger. Time-worn centennial trees stand like guardians of the past, waving gently in the occasional breeze. Eventually, sunset plays your every sense like a fiddle. It is pure country magic. Remnants of the original Cat Ranch homestead are scattered around like little bridges to history. Old farm equipment, lambing sheds, and other relics whisper tales of the old American west. The Henrys have preserved that frontier spirit, evoking a deep nostalgia, and offering an authentic, untamed, wilderness experience. Come feel the seduction of wide open spaces. Here, where the buffalo still roam freely, and the night sky is so revealing, you can see the Milky Way. Come adventuring and exploring.Come build forts with your friends. Rewild yourself and your family. Build domes in the alpine forest section of land and allow guests to witness the life-altering dark sky experience in a glamping resort of your making. With 520 acres and access to water, the possibilities reach as far into the blue sky overhead as these peaks. Despite their seclusion, the Henrys are strategically located and accessible. They sit just north of Lake Powell, and south of Hanksville, with several National Parks, monuments, and recreation areas nearby, including Capitol Reef National Park and Goblin Valley. Solitude is the new luxury. Land with water is the new heirloom everyone desires. This is more than a property; it's a legacy. It's a portal to a vanishing way of life.Call me, and together we'll embark on an adventure to a place I promise you'll never forget.

Salt Lake City UT Home for Sale
This home was purchased in 1983 for it's downtown location overlooking Memory Grove, the city skyline, and the Salt Lake valley/ Wasatch Range. Originally a 1937 speculative builder's home in the International Style, the home was rebuilt in 1996 from the ground up in a complimentary modern style. Mature landscaping offers intimacy while at the same time framing the spectacular views. The bedroom level has the summer view as if from a tree house. Birds and squirrels frolic within feet of the windows. The upper roof decks offer views of the neighboring Capital Building along with panoramic views from the foothills to the east to the city center to the south. The home is a design collaboration of the owner/architect Magda Jakovcev and Louis Ulrich. The attention to details is spectacular, the tiles in the master bath, the open kitchen or just the commercial grade windows and door. The main level has a mix of formality and casualness for easy entertaining and flow. Magda would host parties for her university students to not only see the architecture, but to also see how an architect lived as a lifestyle. The terrace is an extension of the living room. The joint collaboration shows in the privacy wall for the main level terrace one wanted to frame the view while the other wanted the intimacy of the party. The slit of light coming between the home and the privacy wall became the sculptural answer. The upper bedrooms allow privacy from the main level with evening movies shared in the round television room. Light floods the upper levels, each having large rooftop patios. This home is a yin and yang of American strength and European sensibilities, a place connecting to the vast open sky and intimate interior spaces. And to top it all off, there's a charming one bedroom apartment on the lower level with its own entry. Great for short or long term house guests, a slumber party or simply just a little extra space.

It has been said that how you do anything is how you do everything. The sparkling cleanliness of my clients' cars is the first of many indications that they treat the things around them with the respect they deserve. With a four car garage fully equipped with a home car washing station (hot water, floor drain, and all), my seller has enjoyed the act of washing his own cars in his own garage, year round. And the whole space is tidy, with beautiful built-ins to serve all your garageor clean man caveneeds. When my sellers gutted and remodeled this home, they enlisted the talented Mr. Warren Lloyd of Lloyd Architects. Every detail was carefully considered and executed to take advantage of the siting of the home upon its large and terraced lot. Not to mention, the home is planted in the best circle, in one of the best neighborhoods in the city, with some top-notch neighbors to boot. If you've been hit with the layered lines and architectural angles and immaculate landscape in front, then you'll agree, there's no denying the immediate curb appeal. This is just a hint of what's to come in the backyard, filled with terraced gardens, stacked stone walls and solid stone steps, a waterfall and pond, and a putting green. All this, and a multitude of plants and mature trees climbing up the wall of scenery make this one of the best outdoor spaces I've seen. The indoor living space consists of a primary bedroom on the main floor, with a wall of windows that stretches to take in the horizon of valley views. A well-positioned kitchen connects the indoor and outdoor space in back, with a see-through double-sided fireplace as a centerpiece between the two. This home is just as well-suited to family life as it is to entertaining, with a theater room and kitchenette downstairs that won't let you miss a play or crucial scene when you need to grab a snack. There's plenty of room to stretch out inside, while a proper balance of intimate spaces has been maintained. There are some obvious things that my sellers do very well, and maintaining this lovely home is one of them. They inspire me to curate my surroundings with a little more precision and consistency, and to commit to doing even the little things with more intention. Come take a look, and admire the fruits of positive effort at every level.

Quiet luxury may be having a moment, but this subtle masterpiece of a home understood new age elegance before it was trending. During the renovation process, I watched countless passersby stop and stare at the house from the street, totally transfixed. It was as if they'd never seen anything like it before and they hadn't. This is the Siegel House, designed by John Sugden, back in 1962. Among the most discerning crowd, John is akin to architectural royalty. Having attended the Illinois Institute of Technology, he studied and worked under Mies van der Rohe during the construction of the famed Farnsworth House. Once back in Salt Lake, John first built a house for his mother in the Millcreek area. A decade later, with this home, he successfully captured the spirit of Mies. This is one of only nine (or so) Sugden homes in existence. Like fast fashion, much of the construction work being done these days feels "of the moment" and disposable. This home stands in stark contrast to that kind of building ethos. This home is a timeless investment piece, and the seller took great care and attention to preserving the architectural integrity while restoring the property. Every square inch of the remodel began with a few questions in mind. Is this important to the original design of the house? How can we make it better? If Sugden had the resources from today, what would he have done? Start to finish, the seller remained mindful of and loyal to the same values of craftsmanship, style, and refinement found in the architect's original vision. The home is constructed of a white U.S Steel frame and glazed in floor-to-ceiling clear glass on all but three walls in the basement. Smokey gray glass eyelids crown the entire upper portion of the home, protecting the interior from the harsh summer sun while also helping to keep the walls of glass clean. Sugden was the first to incorporate this eyelid design, making it quite innovative for its time. Wall-to-wall terrazzo flooring has been maintained in the public areas upstairs, while the bedrooms have been carpeted in luxurious fine wool. In the kitchen, the original St. Charles cabinets were carefully stripped and painted, and given a lift. The major visual updates have occurred in the bathrooms and kitchen, with new fixtures, gorgeous new appliances and countertops, and additional walnut cabinetry installed for modern living. The exterior metal frame was painstakingly patched and painted to maintain the original aesthetic. Decades of overgrowth in the landscape was pruned back to showcase the sophisticated structure from the view of the street. The parts of the home that were kept were the parts that make it not only special, they make it irreplaceable. This caliber of architecture is not chasing a passing fad or whimsy. It does not inspire a seasonal indulgence only. Sugden's work enjoys a devout following for good reason. It withstands the test of generations. Now, with such a brilliant and mindful remodel, the home has been elevated in function without sacrificing form or beauty. And the beauty is something to behold; it is practically otherworldly. Seller is very motivated. Bring all offers!

Up close, you can see that each stone has been fitted to the next with the perfect shape, size, and color-like a magical puzzle, destined to come together. But no, it doesn't stop there. The entryway aggregate floor runs from the front entry into the interior hall of the home, lined with floor-to-ceiling walnut walls. Floor-to-ceiling appears to be the theme of this house. This is a great home that has been well thought out in the remodel. Every detail has been updated or improved upon, the impeccable taste and attention to details of my seller has made this home not only an amazing space for them, but for anyone else that wants to be in a home that has been loved. One of Salt Lake's most distinctive bungalows, this home has striking features influenced by Green & Green architects in the early 20th Century. The massive beam-work and swooping piers of the oversize front porch reflect Asian design influences employed by Green & Green Architects of this time. Wisteria vines bloom and shelter the west side of the home from the summer sun. The back yard features a 14' x 28' garage, extra deep potentially for tandem parking. French doors at the back of the garage open to a shaded trellis with potential for great studio space. The back patio and outdoor basement stairs are Virginia Bluestone. A 20-year-old privacy hedge was created along the driveway of alternating pear and apple espalier trees. Magnolia, Sycamore, Oak and maple trees adorn the leafy backyard. This home is located a short half-block walk to the Bonneville Glen and Miller Bird Park, where Red Butte Creek flows through 20 acre refuge of forest and water in the midst of this classic Salt Lake suburb. This home received The Utah Heritage award in 2015, notable for the sensitive renovation and restoration including stripping all the layers of paint off the brick to reveal it's original color. Although built in the classic period of the 1920's, this home was completely gutted and fitted with new electrical and plumbing in 2001, while preserving original millwork and cabinetry in the front rooms. New double-pane windows with low-e glass were installed in the kitchen and on the south and west sides facades. The living room features a built-in window seat, and the bowed window of the lounge/formal dining is one of most stunning features of the home. The kitchen counters are composed of mahogany and beautifully veined Carrera Marble at the farm-house sink and range. Cabinets were custom designed to reflect the classic 1920's time period and hardware. Gathering spaces abound in the generous public areas and there is a great open flow from front to back and out French doors to the back yard. There are 5 bedrooms and two bathrooms, two kitchens and the opportunity to close off for a one or two bedroom mother-in-law apartment with it's own kitchen and a separate entrance. On demand water heating, solar panels and high efficiency furnace and cooling are included in the excellent mechanical systems of this home.

About 15 years ago, I had decided to knock on the door of a home that I wanted to know more about. A mid-century treasure, tucked way back off a side road, with fifty-foot pines in front and a dry gully in the back. An elderly Chinese man opened the door and told me his storyand what a story he had. Hailing from the little city of Ogden, this 5'9" man became a giant in Salt Lake City. For you to understand the true significance of this home, you would also have to understand what this period was like for a minority individual. Asian Americans had to knock on the doors of the neighborhood residents to see if they were permitted to buy in the area. Not only did this man buy in the area, but he also designed and built a pretty amazing life. He was part of the founding class at the University of Utah School of Architecture, in 1952. He was also the first person of Asian descent, and the first ever person of color to become a licensed architect in Utah. Aside from raising two sons and five daughters with his wife, Merrie, Will went on to design over 250 buildings over a 40-year career. He was eventually honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA). William "Will" Wing Louie was an artist, and just like in his art, the attention paid to detail in his home is very apparent. From the beautiful rosewood door handles to the organic colors and textures in the salt-glazed bricksthe same bricks you see used in his buildings throughout this city everything was carefully considered. The home is sited in such a way that the wall of glass in back takes full advantage of the views overlooking the gully. The home is anchored in front by columns of pine trees and enveloped by a peaceful garden. Posts and beams create volume and openness among the public spaces on the main level, while the lower level is reserved for the bedrooms. The influence of Japanese post and beam design is clear, as well as the modern movement of that period. This home has received nothing but love and appreciation from the time it was birthed. It has seen the changes of seasons, the arrival of ten grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. A world that's very different than when this all started, has grown up around it. This home is compelling not just for its design, but because of the man who brought it to life.

I'm always the first to declare that a home is worth more than the sum of its walls and ceilings, but this one has some bragging to do, in terms of material things. Imagine siding that reflects the hues of the scenery, shifting its complexion like a changing season, brimming with soft golden morning sunrise delight, or beaming like an ostentatious sunset on the edge of night. A roof winged in mimicry of a bird in flight. A shelter tucked into a giant cradle of time-sculpted sandstone that stands like nature's eternal guard at its back, while fertile green fields stretch to the front and sides.Welcome to the Fire Rock Residence, built with the strength to withstand the rugged environment of a desert retreat. I personally find myself craving more time in Utah's southern section, and this house sits firmly between two of our best national parks and some scenic drives so thrilling, they'll leave you on the edge of your seat (ask me for details).Located in Escalante, the gateway to Grand Staircase National Monument, this property spans 18.5 acres of land with plenty of water rights.A recently renovated guest house greets you at the entrance, just a short walk or drive from the main house, but far enough away to offer a legitimate amount of privacy.Originally a tack house, the exterior retains its old western charm, while the interior embraces a modern design and amenities. The main home pays homage to its natural surroundings, beginning with the exterior stone walls quarried from high atop a local Utah mountain.Every detail has been meticulously curated, from the custom cherry wood front pivot door to the old growth, reclaimed Douglas fir flooring sourced from an old Missouri barn.Inside, you'll find two handsome primary suites, one on the main floor and one on the upper level, connected by an elegantly engineered wood and steel staircase.A detached wing on the upper level houses a private office suite, separated from the main living area by a gorgeous ipe wood walkway that also leads to one of several viewing decks around the home.In the kitchen, nature looms large, with glass walls consumed by monumental views of the sentinel Fire Rock formation.Wolf and Subzero appliances are topped off with Caesarstone counters and zebra wood cabinets, echoing the famously banded walls of nearby Zebra Canyon. The home's lower level includes an additional bedroom, bath, entertainment room, and laundry. This level opens to the oversized garage, outfitted with a large utility sink, cold room with its own compressor, and an all-glass garage door that perfectly frames the desertscape beyond. With energy efficiency in mind, the property comes equipped with a geothermal system for heating and cooling, a large solar system, and a Tesla wall charger. In addition to the two living structures, there is a spacious (approx. 1,500 sq.ft.), detached garage/shop to store an RV, tractor, or adventure gear. There's also a large hoop house and a geothermal greenhouse, where I would unquestionably choose to spend a lot of time. This residence is an architectural statement piece assembled amongst statement surroundings. Both speak equally to me.Whether you're seeking the ultimate remote workspace, a sustainable homestead, or a basecamp for exploration, this property's birdsong is the perfect harmony of modern luxury and primitive terrain.

SELLER IS HIGHLY MOTIVATED. All reasonable offers will be considered. Legend has it, Frank Lloyd Wright once tore through his Oak Park neighborhood in a linen suit and driving goggles-his twin passions for speed and design evident in the 85 cars he reportedly owned. This love of movement and form shaped some of his most iconic creations, including the Robie House in 1909the first American home designed with a built-in garage. Just a few years later, in 1913, that vision found resonance in Utah. Designed by renowned architects Pope and Burton, this historic residence is Utah's finest example of the Prairie School style, and the first home in the state to feature an integrated garage. Inspired by the wide, open landscapes of the American Midwest, the Prairie style defined early 20th-century modern living. Rooted in the Prairie School's reverence for horizontal composition, the home's low-pitched roof, overhanging eaves, and broad balconies create a rhythmic pattern.Planters and urns adorn every level, designed to bloom in sync with the seasons and blur the boundary between home and environment. From the front, a modest entryway opens into a generous, light-filled layout that flows with ease. The kitchen opens directly into expansive outdoor entertaining areas, complete with a pool.On the lower level, rows of original changing rooms whisper stories of roaring summer parties and ragtime sounds echoing off the water. The primary suite rests on the main floor, with three additional bedrooms upstairs, each of sizable proportions. Throughout, the home balances openness and intimacy. It's easy to picture the Jazz Age here: you can almost hear theswinging melodies drifting through the wide halls. It's the kind of space F. Scott Fitzgerald might have imagined for Jay Gatsby: storied, soulful, and timeless. So why not riff on history a little?Come see it for yourself, find your rhythm, and step into your very ownfeel-goodera.
