John Howard received his real estate license in 1991. He worked with several offices before opening his own real estate company in 2007. John J Howard & Associates has grown to include offices in Baker, Union, and Umatilla counties. John has worked with a cross-section of buyers and sellers, from first-time buyers to major investors, family farms and ranches. He has an incredibly good understanding of the purchasing process from the sale agreement to working with lenders and with title companies.John and his wife Deb, have two sons who are married and have children. John and Deb enjoy spending their extra time with their grandchildren, their daughters-in-law and their two sons. There is always an event to attend or a project that they get invited to help with. John and Deb have lived and worked in Eastern Oregon for years and have enjoyed raising their family in the Grande Ronde Valley. They hope others get the opportunity to enjoy Eastern Oregon living also.John has been a longtime Union County resident and has a long history of serving his community in numerous ways. He first began serving as a volunteer as a firefighter, city council member and mayor for the City of Imbler. In 1986, John ran for the position of Union County Judge and served for 4 years at that position. The county changed the form of government and John served 3 more terms as Union County Commissioner.In public volunteer service, John has served as president of La Grande Main Street, president-elect of the Union County Chamber board, board member for United Way, President of La Grande Lions, and he was a Union County Little League coach for five years. John was Union County Man of the Year in 2012 for his community service.
