Michael Lay grew up in Lombard and is a graduate of Glenbard East High School. After high school, he attended college at Illinois State University where he met his beautiful wife of 32 years, Michele. Shortly after graduating from Illinois State, he began his law enforcement career with the Villa Park Police Department. In January of 2021 he completed 30 years of service and retired as the Chief of Police. He has lived in the Lombard and Villa Park area for the last 28 years. We has two children, a daughter-in-law and a grandson who all live in the Chicago area as well. He is a member of the Villa Park Kiwanis Club and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lombard. His interests include spending time and traveling with his family, physical fitness activities and music.He want to continue working with members of the community that he has been such a part of for 30 years and is looking forward to this new career in real estate with G. M. Smith & Son Realtors, an agency that has been working with the community for over a century. He is looking forward to helping his clients with buying, selling or renting.
