William has been in real estate full-time since 1966. He progressed to becoming a selling manager for Yorktown Associates from 1970 until 2000. He managed up to 52 associates and his office became one of the largest real estate offices in Rhode Island. During the 1980s, he was elected President of the Kent County Board of Realtors for two consecutive terms and served on numerous Realtor boards. Along with several other associates, they became the Fooks Team in the 90s to help serve their client base while still with Yorktown Associates.In 2000, their company, Yorktown Associates, was purchased by DeWolf Realtors and he became leader of a group of dynamic individuals. During that time, their company was bought out by Coldwell Banker. The Fooks Team has since grown to 10 individuals and his position remains as an active listing and selling broker on the team. They have been recognized as one of the leading teams in Rhode Island. He is also proud that over fourteen people have earned a net worth of at least a million dollars while associated with him as either their manager or as a member of the Fooks Team over the years.
