My wife Carol and I first got to know Brevard, North Carolina and all the neighboring communities the way many people do - by vacationing here. We would come to the area every summer to escape the Florida heat and soak in the pristine beauty of the mountains. We’d stay until the last possible moment before making the drive back to Florida where we had lived for 30+ years. Finally, time and opportunity came together and we began making plans to relocate to the mountains permanently. Between the heat, the hurricanes, and the hectic way of life, we were more than ready for a change and we knew exactly where we wanted to be...right here in western North Carolina. And now, we simply can’t imagine living any place else.
