Nelson Chen is the President and Owner of The Chen Agency in Fort Lee, New Jersey. In his 30’s he has already distinguished himself as one of the most accomplished Realtors in the industry.In early 1999 the Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors named Nelson as the 1998 Realtor of the Year. The Realtor of the Year award is one of the highest honors that the Board of Realtors bestows upon its members. Criteria for selection include faithfulness and furtherance of the Realtor code of ethics, local Board involvement, State and National Association involvement, business accomplishments and community service involvement.In 1998, 2000 and 2003 Nelson served as the President of the New Jersey Multiple Listing Service. The NJMLS is a multi-million dollar non-profit corporation that serves all of Bergen County and surrounding areas. It provides detailed listing information on properties to over 5000 member real estate agents. Nelson has been a member of the NJMLS Board of Directors since 1995. During this same time Nelson has also been a member of the Board of Trustees of the NJ Association of Realtors Educational Foundation. This foundation awards academic scholarships to worthy New Jersey students. Nelson was a recipient of the scholarship in 1987 and 1988 while he was attending the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Nelson is a cum laude graduate of Wharton with a concentration in real estate and finance.Closer to home, Nelson is very involved as an alumnus of the Elisabeth Morrow and Dwight-Englewood Schools, both in Englewood. He is the youngest member of the Dwight-Englewood School’s Board of Trustees. As well, Nelson is one of the charter members of the Elisabeth Morrow School’s Alumni Committee.While being actively involved in these community organizations Nelson has also garnered many business accolades. He has been a licensed real estate agent since 1986. In 1998 he was awarded Lifetime Membership in the NJ Association of Realtors Million Dollar Sales Club after having earned the award for ten consecutive years and accumulating over $100 million in sales.
