His father Ron drove from MN to FL in 1978 and drove the west coast, then the east coast. He came back to MN and said he had found Paradise on Hutchinson Island. Mitchell’s family moved to Hutchinson Island in 1979. It was the first time he saw the Atlantic Ocean and he was charmed.Mitch learned surfing and did a lot of swimming. He took up golf as an adult to take advantage of the many great golf courses on the island. Over 26 golf courses, over 60 fine restaurants, 70 banks, 30 grocery stores, 3 hospitals, 8 libraries, over 30 schools, about 30 taverns, an airport, 18 marinas, 15 miles of beach all within a 15-mile radius! And locally, the ocean stays about 72.5 degrees all year ‘round. Mitchell is a happily married family man with a lovely daughter Erin.
