West Chester PA Home for Sale

This end of the cul-de-sac 1960 ranch has been artfully transformed into a home reminiscent of an 1800’s English cottage with modern amenities and a newer roof (2015). Upon entering the lower level, you will immediately begin to discover some of the handcrafted details that make this property unique: a workspace hidden into the wall, a built-in entertainment cabinet in the spacious family room, book shelves lining the walls of the current library (bonus room), and a pristine new bathroom (2022) with a double sink and glass shower. The lower level also has a free standing wood burning stove, two generous closets, a large laundry room with side-by-side washer and dryer, and a boiler room with even more storage space. The main level continues to boast handcrafted touches that add beauty and character: five panel wood doors, wainscoting, built-in bookshelves and closets, and radiant-heated wood floors in the kitchen, living room, and bedrooms. Sit at the counter in the kitchen or enjoy the view of the deck and back gardens as you prepare a meal. Open to the kitchen, the living room has a stately stone fireplace, as well as multiple windows looking out to the covered front porch and vast front yard. From the kitchen you enter the sunny dining room with one French door leading to the backyard deck and another leading down a stone walkway to the herb garden in the enclosed side yard. Between the radiant-heated brick floor, the wainscoting, and a cozy nook with a second fireplace, the dining room exudes ambiance. Three bedrooms, each with a generous closet, and two smaller hallway closets are situated near the full bath. The custom trim, cabinetry, and porcelain clawfoot tub make the bathroom far more luxurious than functional. Outdoor living on this property rivals the quality of the indoors. The driveway leads to a wide parking area that can accommodate five cars, a wood shed, and a custom built workshop, which has endless possibilities for finishing to your desired use (studio, sauna, mini guest house, etc). There is also a storage shed and a chicken coop, ready for when you want to experience a taste of provincial life. The property is dotted with mature plantings and trees (including pear, apple, and fig) a highlight of which is the fragrant, blossoming magnolia that will greet you as you walk in the door each day.
