In by gone years before the settlers this was Indian country and in the spring they would set up camp along the Octoraro River and as the fish were running they would catch and smoke fish for the year ahead. Love was in the air and there is a large rock perturbing out of the hillside that became the site of the Indian Weddings. Hence the name was given to this part of the Octoraro River. This land adjoins over five hundred (500) acres of open wooded land of the Chester County Council Inc. Boy Scouts of America. The river is clean clear running and visited daily by bald eagles is search of an easy meal. Tall standing timber that is marketable and the wildlife call it home. This property is just minutes off Route 1 south of Rising Sun and less than ten minutes to I-95. The barn was lost in a storm and the old Farm House has been removed. You can rebuild the home and barn/stable as there is an onsite septic system and drilled well in place. The boundary survey was just completed in late September 2010 and will be provided and is available for review. Please call for permission to do a walk a about and inspect this property. Pack a lunch and your bathing suits bring a big blanket and enjoy a day on the Octoraro at Wedding Rock.
