About this 748 acre land

Located just outside the town of Helper, Utah, this expansive 748+ acre property offers a combination of history, recreation, and wildlife habitat within Carbon County's mountainous landscape. Known as the Ghost Town Getaway Ranch, the land contains portions of the historic Latuda and Rains mining towns. Evidence of Utah's coal country heritage remains visible across the property, with relics from a bygone era integrated into the rugged terrain. The property has been used for recreational purposes for more than three decades, and even saw some commercial/STR use during that time as well. Hiking, hunting, camping, rock climbing, and exploring are common activities for both residents and visitors to this area. The current owners have continued to expand road and trail access, including over 4 miles of UTV trails leading to secluded portions of the ranch. These areas are well shielded from the main road, providing privacy and a wide range of outdoor opportunities. Multiple big game species frequent the property, and sightings of elk and mule deer are frequent in the fall and winter, while black bear, mountain lion, coyotes, and upland bird species have also been known to roam the area. The property lies within the limited-entry Manti hunting unit, recognized for quality elk and deer habitat. During the late fall and winter, large groups of elk and deer often use the property as winter range, and the property has been entitled to one buck deer, along with up to 7 cow elk tags yearly. BLM ground located immediately to the south and east connects the ranch to over 8,800 contiguous acres of additional land for recreational purposes. A key feature of the property is a substantial log-style cabin built in 1995. The residence measures more than 4,000 square feet and includes 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. The cabin is designed for group use, with a large great room, wrap-around porch, covered parking, and multiple walk-in showers. A sauna adds another element for extended stays. With a separate guest entrance, the home is flexible for family gatherings, group retreats, or potential short-term rental use. Utilities and water resources enhance the property's usability. The ranch includes water rights sufficient for multiple cabins and the capacity for agricultural use, focused on livestock. The location on Spring Canyon Road provides reliable, county-maintained access directly to the cabin, ensuring year-round entry. The ranch's varied terrain offers dramatic elevation changes, scenic viewpoints, and secluded canyons. These features make the property suitable for multiple outdoor pursuits while also highlighting its unique natural beauty. The combination of history, access, water resources, and wildlife use distinguishes this property as one of significant recreational and conservation value. Helper is located just minutes from the property, offering essential services and supplies. Price, Utah, is approximately 15 miles to the southeast, providing additional amenities, shopping, and medical facilities. Salt Lake City lies about 120 miles to the northwest, making the property accessible from Utah's largest metropolitan area within a reasonable drive. For those seeking a large-acreage property with recreational, historical, and residential elements, this Carbon County ranch offers a rare opportunity. Its unique combination of features and location ensures a wide range of potential uses, from private retreats and hunting land to agricultural operations and historical exploration.
