The Al-Gen was long the Northwoods standard for Wisconsins famed Supper Clubs. Recently closed due to a kitchen fire, the nostalgic, log-constructed buildingpainted in classic cabin redremains functional as a tavern. The interior features a horseshoe-shaped bar that was always overflowing with laughter and conversation, two restrooms*, and two "dividable" former dining areas (each with open-beamed ceilings and gas fireplaces) that could be repurposed for tavern seating, pool and dart leagues, and/or meeting space. There is ABUNDANT parking and a kid's game room (open seasonally). Although it would take a great deal of capital investment to bring the kitchen portion up to current code, the Al-Gen retains its historic atmosphere and could provide a wonderful opportunity for someone looking to get into the tavern business at a very affordable price. The liquor license should be transferrable subject to township approval.
