Racine, Wisconsin is a city located on the shores of Lake Michigan in southeastern Wisconsin. It is the county seat of Racine County and is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The city has a population of 78,860 as of 2019 and is known for its strong manufacturing base, diverse cultural heritage, and beautiful lakefront.

Racine was founded in 1834 by Gilbert Knapp and was named after the French word for "root" due to its location at the mouth of Root River. The city quickly grew as a center for manufacturing and industry, with companies such as J.I. Case Threshing Machine Company, S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc., and Modine Manufacturing Company all having their headquarters in Racine.

Today, Racine is home to several attractions that draw visitors from around the world. The Racine Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the United States and features over 200 species of animals from around the world. The Wind Point Lighthouse stands tall on Lake Michigan's shoreline and offers stunning views of the lake and surrounding area. The Racine Art Museum showcases contemporary art from local artists as well as international works from renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol.
