Yelm, Washington is a small city located in Thurston County, about 45 miles southeast of Seattle. It is situated in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and is surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills. The city has a population of around 7,000 people and covers an area of 8.6 square miles.

The city was founded in 1883 by settlers from the Midwest who were looking for a place to settle down and start their own farms. Since then, Yelm has grown into a vibrant community with plenty of amenities for its residents. The downtown area features several restaurants, shops, and other businesses that cater to the needs of locals and visitors alike. There are also several parks throughout the city that offer recreational activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, camping, and more.

Yelm is home to several schools including Yelm High School, Yelm Middle School, and Yelm Elementary School. The city also has its own library as well as a community center where residents can take part in various activities such as art classes or sports leagues.

The climate in Yelm is mild year-round with temperatures rarely dropping below freezing during winter months or rising above 90 degrees during summer months.
