Snohomish, Washington Description
Snohomish, WA is a small city located in the northwest corner of Washington State, about 30 miles north of Seattle. It is situated on the banks of the Snohomish River and is surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills. The city has a population of around 10,000 people and is known for its quaint downtown area with historic buildings, unique shops, and restaurants.
The climate in Snohomish is mild and temperate with warm summers and cool winters. The average temperature in July is around 75 degrees Fahrenheit while the average temperature in January is around 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Rainfall is abundant throughout the year with an average of over 40 inches per year.
Snohomish offers plenty of outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy including hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, camping, golfing, and more. There are also several parks located within the city limits including Centennial Park which features a playground and picnic areas as well as a skate park. The nearby Pilchuck River provides excellent opportunities for rafting and tubing during the summer months.
The city also hosts several annual events such as the Snohomish County Fair which takes place every August at Evergreen State Fairgrounds. Other popular events include the Snohomish Wine & Beer Festival held each June at Thomas Family Farm as well as the Snohomish Farmers Market which takes place every Saturday from May through October at Willis Tucker Park.
Snohomish has something for everyone to enjoy whether you’re looking for outdoor recreation or just want to explore its charming downtown area. With its beautiful scenery and friendly atmosphere it’s no wonder why so many people call this small city home!
