Port Orchard, Washington Description

Port Orchard is a city located in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. It is the county seat of Kitsap County and is located on the Kitsap Peninsula, across Sinclair Inlet from Seattle. The population was 11,144 at the 2010 census and an estimated 12,822 in 2019.

Port Orchard is known for its waterfront views and activities. The downtown area features a variety of shops, restaurants, and galleries. There are also several parks along the waterfront that offer great views of Sinclair Inlet and Mount Rainier. The city also hosts several festivals throughout the year including the Port Orchard Bay Days Festival in August and the Port Orchard Waterfront Festival in June.

The city has a strong maritime history with many boats docked at its marinas. There are also several boat launches available for those looking to explore the waters around Port Orchard. The city also has a vibrant arts scene with several galleries and art studios located throughout town.

Port Orchard is home to several schools including South Kitsap High School, Olympic College, and Evergreen State College-Kitsap Campus. There are also several parks located throughout town including McCormick Woods Park which offers hiking trails and picnic areas as well as a disc golf course.
