Issaquah, WA, USA is a small city located in King County, Washington. It is situated just east of Seattle and is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The city has a population of around 37,000 people and covers an area of 14.7 square miles.
The city was founded in 1892 and was originally known as Squak Valley. It was later renamed Issaquah after a local Native American chief. The city has grown steadily over the years and is now home to many businesses, including Microsoft’s headquarters.
The climate in Issaquah is mild with warm summers and cool winters. The average temperature in the summer months is around 70 degrees Fahrenheit while the winter months average around 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Rainfall is abundant throughout the year with an average of over 40 inches per year.
Issaquah offers plenty of outdoor activities for its residents and visitors alike. There are several parks located within the city limits, including Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park which offers hiking trails and stunning views of the surrounding area. Other popular outdoor activities include fishing, camping, golfing, biking, and skiing at nearby Snoqualmie Pass Ski Resort.
The downtown area of Issaquah features a variety of shops, restaurants, galleries, and other attractions for visitors to explore. There are also several annual festivals held throughout the year such as Salmon Days Festival which celebrates the return of salmon to local streams each fall.
