Sterling, Virginia is a census-designated place located in Loudoun County, Virginia. It is situated about 30 miles northwest of Washington, D.C., and is part of the Washington metropolitan area. Sterling is home to Dulles International Airport and the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center.
