Stafford, Virginia is a county located in the northern part of the state, just south of Washington D.C. It is part of the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria metropolitan area and is home to over 140,000 people. The county seat is Stafford Courthouse and it is bordered by Prince William County to the north, Spotsylvania County to the south, and Fauquier County to the west.
The area has a rich history that dates back to 1664 when it was first settled by English colonists. During the Civil War, Stafford was an important strategic location for both Union and Confederate forces. Today, it is a vibrant community with plenty of activities for residents and visitors alike.
The county offers a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, camping, and more. There are also several parks and recreational areas including Aquia Creek Park, Government Island State Park, and Widewater State Park.
