Spotsylvania is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA. It is situated in the northern part of the state, just south of Fredericksburg and north of Richmond. The county seat is Spotsylvania Courthouse.
The county has a total area of 414 square miles, with a population of 132,010 as of 2020. The terrain is mostly rolling hills and woodlands, with some flat areas near the Rappahannock River. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot summers and mild winters.
Spotsylvania County is home to many historical sites from the Civil War era, including the Battle of Chancellorsville and the Battle of Fredericksburg. There are also several state parks in the area, such as Lake Anna State Park and Wilderness Road State Park.
