Reston, Virginia is a vibrant and diverse community located in the heart of Fairfax County, just 20 miles west of Washington D.C. Reston is home to over 60,000 residents and is known for its beautiful parks, trails, and lakes. The town was founded in 1964 by Robert E. Simon Jr., who envisioned a planned community that would be a model for suburban living.
Reston has something for everyone with its many shopping centers, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The Reston Town Center is the hub of activity in the area with its many shops, restaurants, and movie theater. There are also plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy such as hiking and biking trails along Lake Anne or taking a stroll through one of the many parks in the area.
Reston is also home to several large employers such as Microsoft, Verizon Business, Northrop Grumman Corporation, and SAIC. The area also boasts excellent schools including South Lakes High School which was recently ranked among the top high schools in the nation by U.S News & World Report.
