Fredericksburg, Virginia is a city located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, approximately 50 miles south of Washington D.C. It is the county seat of Spotsylvania County and is part of the Northern Virginia region. The city has a population of 28,000 people and is known for its rich history and vibrant culture.
The city was founded in 1728 by German settlers who named it after Prince Frederick Louis, son of King George II. Fredericksburg was an important port during the American Revolution and Civil War, and many historic sites remain today.
