West Valley City is a city located in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The population was 129,480 at the 2010 census, making it the second-largest city in Utah. West Valley City is the second-largest city in the state of Utah and is located just west of Salt Lake City. It is home to a diverse population and offers a variety of activities for residents and visitors alike.
The city has a total area of 35.5 square miles and an elevation of 4,304 feet above sea level. West Valley City has a semi-arid climate with hot summers and cold winters. The average annual temperature is around 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius).
West Valley City has many parks and recreational areas for residents to enjoy including Granger Park, Hunter Park, Redwood Park, and Taylorsville Park. There are also several golf courses in the area such as Rose Park Golf Course and Mountain View Golf Course. The city also has several shopping centers including Valley Fair Mall and Jordan Landing Shopping Center.
West Valley City also offers a variety of cultural attractions such as the Hale Centre Theatre, which hosts plays and musicals throughout the year; The Maverik Center which hosts concerts; The Utah Cultural Celebration Center which offers educational programs; and The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium which features over 4500 animals from around the world.
In addition to its many attractions, West Valley City also boasts excellent schools with some of the highest test scores in the state as well as numerous job opportunities due to its proximity to Salt Lake City's business district.
