Clearfield, Utah Description
Clearfield is a city located in Davis County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Ogden-Clearfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 30,112 at the 2010 census. Clearfield is home to Hill Air Force Base and the Clearfield Job Corps Center.
Clearfield is located on the western edge of Davis County, bordered by Weber County to the north and west and Morgan County to the east. The city lies between the Great Salt Lake to the northwest and Interstate 15 to the southeast. The Wasatch Mountains rise to the east, with Thurston Peak at 9,706 feet (2,957 m) as the highest point in Clearfield. According to the United States Census Bureau, Clearfield has a total area of 16.7 square miles (43 km2), all land.
The climate in Clearfield is generally mild with four distinct seasons. Summers are hot and dry with temperatures reaching into the 90s Fahrenheit during July and August while winters are cold with temperatures dropping below freezing during December and January. Average annual precipitation is 17 inches (430 mm).
Clearfield has a variety of recreational activities available for residents including golf courses, parks, trails, swimming pools, tennis courts, and more. There are also several shopping centers located throughout town as well as a variety of restaurants offering different cuisines from around the world.
