Waxahachie, Texas is a small city located in Ellis County, about 30 miles south of Dallas. It is known for its historic downtown area, which features a variety of shops and restaurants. The city was founded in 1850 by Thomas M. Duke and named after the Native American tribe that once lived in the area.
