Spring Branch, Texas Description
Spring Branch is a small city located in the Greater Houston area of Texas. It is situated in the northwest corner of Harris County, just north of Interstate 10 and west of Highway 290. The city has a population of approximately 28,000 people and covers an area of about 11 square miles.
The city was founded in 1838 by German immigrants who were looking for a place to settle and farm. The area was originally known as “Zimmerscheidt” after one of the original settlers, but was later changed to Spring Branch due to the abundance of natural springs in the area.
Today, Spring Branch is a vibrant community with plenty to offer its residents. The city is home to several parks and recreational areas, including Memorial Park, which features a large lake and walking trails. There are also several shopping centers and restaurants located throughout the city.
The public school system in Spring Branch is highly rated, with several elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools located within the district boundaries. The city also has two private schools: St. Peter's Lutheran School and St. Mark's Episcopal School.
Spring Branch is also home to many churches representing various denominations including Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Catholic, Lutheran, Episcopal and more. In addition to these places of worship there are also several cultural attractions such as art galleries and museums that showcase local history and culture.
