Salado, Texas is a small town located in Bell County, Texas. It is situated about 45 miles north of Austin and about 20 miles south of Temple. The population of Salado is approximately 2,500 people.
The town was founded in 1859 and has a rich history that includes the famous Battle of Salado Creek which took place during the Civil War. The town is known for its historic buildings, including the Salado College Historic District which includes several buildings from the 19th century.
