Poolville, Texas Description
Poolville is a small town located in Parker County, Texas. It is situated about 20 miles northwest of Fort Worth and is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area. The population of Poolville was 1,072 at the 2010 census.
The town was founded in 1856 by William Pool, who established a trading post and general store near the banks of the West Fork Trinity River. The town grew slowly over the years, but it wasn’t until the 1950s that it began to experience significant growth. Today, Poolville is a quiet rural community with a strong sense of community spirit.
The town has several churches, including First Baptist Church and Poolville United Methodist Church. There are also two schools in Poolville: Poolville Elementary School and Poolville High School. The town also has a public library and several parks for residents to enjoy.
Poolville is known for its annual Peach Festival, which takes place every June and features live music, food vendors, carnival rides, and more. The festival draws thousands of visitors from all over Texas each year. Other popular attractions include the historic downtown area with its many antique stores and restaurants; Lake Mineral Wells State Park; and Possum Kingdom Lake, which offers fishing, boating, swimming, camping, and other outdoor activities.
