Mission, Texas is a city located in Hidalgo County, Texas. It is part of the McAllen–Edinburg–Mission metropolitan area and is situated along the Rio Grande river. The city has a population of 83,000 people and is known for its rich culture and history.
The city was founded in 1846 by settlers from the Canary Islands who were looking for a place to settle and start their own community. Mission quickly grew into an agricultural center with cotton, citrus fruits, vegetables, and grains being grown in the area.
