Midland, Texas is a city located in the Permian Basin region of West Texas. It is the county seat of Midland County and is situated between Odessa and Big Spring. The city has a population of approximately 136,000 people and is known for its oil industry, which has been a major part of the local economy since the 1920s.
Midland is home to many attractions, including the Museum of the Southwest, which features art galleries, an observatory, and a planetarium. The city also boasts several parks and recreational areas such as Hogan Park, Beal Park, and Scharbauer Sports Complex. Additionally, Midland hosts several annual events such as the Tall City Blues Festival and the West Texas Fair & Rodeo.
The city has a semi-arid climate with hot summers and mild winters. Average temperatures range from highs in the mid-90s during summer months to lows in the mid-30s during winter months. Rainfall averages around 17 inches per year with most precipitation occurring during spring months.
