Longview, Texas Description
Longview, TX is a city located in the northeastern part of the state, about 120 miles east of Dallas. It is the county seat of Gregg County and has a population of around 80,000 people. The city was founded in 1871 and has grown steadily since then.
Longview is known for its beautiful parks and outdoor recreation opportunities. The city has over 20 parks, including Lake O' The Pines, which offers camping, fishing, swimming, boating and other activities. There are also several golf courses in the area as well as a number of museums and historic sites.
The economy of Longview is largely based on oil and gas production as well as manufacturing. The city is home to several large companies such as LeTourneau Technologies and Eastman Chemical Company. There are also many small businesses that provide goods and services to the local community.
