Krum, Texas Description
Krum, Texas is a small town located in Denton County, about 40 miles northwest of Dallas. It has a population of around 4,000 people and is known for its rural charm and friendly atmosphere. The town was founded in 1881 by German immigrants who named it after their hometown of Krum, Germany.
Krum is home to several businesses including a grocery store, hardware store, restaurants, and other small businesses. The town also has several parks and recreational areas such as the Krum City Park which features a playground, picnic area, walking trails, and a fishing pond. There are also several churches in the area including the First United Methodist Church of Krum which was built in 1883.
The town is served by the Krum Independent School District which includes two elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The district also offers an alternative education program for students who need additional help or have special needs.
Krum is known for its annual festivals such as the Krumfest which takes place every October and features live music, food vendors, carnival rides and more. The town also hosts an annual Christmas parade each December that features floats from local businesses and organizations as well as Santa Claus himself!
