Iowa Colony, Texas Description
Iowa Colony is a small town located in Brazoria County, Texas, United States. It is situated about 25 miles south of Houston and is part of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. The population was 1,845 at the 2010 census.
The town was founded in 1894 by a group of settlers from Iowa who were looking for a place to settle and start a new life. The town was named after their home state and has since grown into a thriving community with many businesses and amenities.
The town has several parks, including the Iowa Colony City Park which features a playground, picnic areas, basketball courts, and walking trails. There are also several churches in the area as well as schools such as Iowa Colony Elementary School and Iowa Colony High School.
