Hutto, Texas Description
Hutto, Texas is a small city located in Williamson County, about 30 miles northeast of Austin. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area and has a population of around 25,000 people. The city was founded in 1876 and was originally known as “Hutto Switch” due to its location on the International-Great Northern Railroad line.
The city is known for its historic downtown area, which features several buildings from the late 19th century. The downtown area also includes a variety of shops, restaurants, and other businesses. There are also several parks located throughout the city, including Fritz Park and Hutto Lake Park.
Hutto is home to several schools in the Hutto Independent School District, including Hutto High School and Farley Middle School. The city also has a number of churches and religious organizations.
The economy of Hutto is largely based on retail trade and manufacturing. Major employers include Dell Computers, H-E-B Grocery Stores, and Seton Medical Center Williamson. The city also hosts several annual events such as the Hutto Old Time Music Festival and the Hutto Hippo Fest.
