Humble, Texas Description
Humble, Texas is a small city located in the northeastern part of Harris County, Texas. It is situated about 25 miles northeast of downtown Houston and is part of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. The city has a population of approximately 15,000 people and covers an area of 8.2 square miles.
Humble was founded in 1828 by Pleasant Smith Humble, a settler from Tennessee who named the town after himself. The city was incorporated in 1933 and has since grown to become a thriving community with many amenities for its residents.
The city is home to several parks and recreational areas, including Lake Houston State Park, which offers camping, fishing, boating, swimming, and other outdoor activities. There are also several golf courses in the area as well as shopping centers and restaurants.
Humble is served by two school districts: Humble Independent School District and New Caney Independent School District. The city also has several private schools that offer education for students from pre-kindergarten through high school.
The economy of Humble is largely based on oil production and refining; however, there are also many other industries that contribute to the local economy such as manufacturing, retail trade, healthcare services, construction, transportation services, finance and insurance services.
