Georgetown, Texas is a city located in Williamson County, about 30 miles north of Austin. It is the county seat and the most populous city in the county. The population was 47,400 at the 2010 census, making it one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States.
Georgetown is known for its historic downtown area, which features a variety of shops and restaurants. The city also has several parks and trails for outdoor recreation. Georgetown is home to Southwestern University, one of the oldest universities in Texas.
The climate in Georgetown is generally mild with hot summers and cool winters. The average temperature ranges from 40°F to 95°F throughout the year. Rainfall averages around 33 inches per year with most of it occurring during spring and summer months.
Georgetown has a strong economy based on manufacturing, technology, healthcare, education and tourism. Major employers include Dell Computers, St. David’s Healthcare System and Southwestern University.
