Chandler, Texas Description
Chandler, Texas is a small town located in Henderson County, about an hour east of Dallas. The population is just over 3,000 people and the town has a rural feel with plenty of open space and rolling hills. The town was founded in 1881 and named after a local rancher, John Chandler.
The downtown area of Chandler is home to several historic buildings, including the old post office and the historic Chandler Hotel. There are also several restaurants and shops in the downtown area. The town also has a few parks, including Chandler City Park which features a playground, picnic areas, walking trails, and a swimming pool.
Chandler is known for its annual events such as the 4th of July celebration which includes fireworks and live music. Other popular events include the Christmas Parade and the Henderson County Fair which takes place each year in October.
The town is served by two school districts: Brownsboro Independent School District and Murchison Independent School District. There are also several churches in the area including First United Methodist Church of Chandler, First Baptist Church of Chandler, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
