Caldwell, Texas is a small city located in Burleson County, Texas. It is situated about halfway between Austin and Houston, making it a convenient stop for travelers. The population of Caldwell is around 4,000 people and the city covers an area of 3.3 square miles.

The city was founded in 1848 by settlers from Tennessee and named after Matthew Caldwell, who was a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence. The town grew slowly until the arrival of the railroad in 1881 which brought new businesses and industry to the area.

Today, Caldwell is known for its historic downtown district which features many buildings from the late 19th century. There are several restaurants, shops, and other businesses located in this area as well as a few museums and galleries. The city also has several parks including City Park which features a playground, picnic areas, walking trails, and more.

Caldwell is home to Southwestern University which was founded in 1840 and is one of the oldest universities in Texas. The university offers a variety of degree programs including business administration, education, engineering, nursing, psychology and more.

The climate in Caldwell is generally mild with hot summers and cool winters.
