Belton, Texas is a small city located in Bell County, Texas. It is situated about halfway between Austin and Waco, and is part of the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of Belton was 20,547 as of the 2010 census.

Belton has a rich history that dates back to 1851 when it was founded by settlers from Tennessee and Kentucky. The city was named after Peter Hansborough Bell, who served as the third governor of Texas from 1849 to 1853. Belton was an important stop on the Chisholm Trail during the late 19th century and early 20th century.

Today, Belton is a vibrant community with a variety of attractions and activities for residents and visitors alike.
