Aransas Pass, Texas is a small coastal city located in San Patricio County, Texas. It is situated on the western shore of Aransas Bay, just south of Corpus Christi. The city has a population of 8,900 and is known for its fishing and bird watching opportunities.

The city was founded in 1883 by Captain Richard King and named after the nearby Aransas Pass. The pass was used by Spanish explorers to cross the bay from Corpus Christi to Port Aransas. The city has grown steadily since then and now serves as a popular tourist destination for fishing, bird watching, and other outdoor activities.

The climate in Aransas Pass is subtropical with hot summers and mild winters. Average temperatures range from the mid-60s in winter to the mid-90s in summer. Rainfall averages around 30 inches per year with most of it occurring during the summer months.

The economy of Aransas Pass is largely based on tourism and fishing.
