Alvin, Texas Description
Alvin, Texas is a small city located in Brazoria County, about 30 miles south of Houston. It is part of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area and has a population of approximately 25,000 people. The city was founded in 1873 by a group of settlers from Kentucky and named after Alvin Morgan, one of the original settlers.
Alvin is known for its rural atmosphere and small-town charm. The city has several parks and recreational areas, including Alvin Community College, which offers a variety of educational opportunities. There are also several museums and historical sites in the area, such as the Alvin Historical Museum and the Alvin Railroad Depot Museum.
