Alba, Texas Description
Alba, TX is a small town located in Wood County, Texas. It is situated about 90 miles east of Dallas and about 25 miles west of Tyler. The population of Alba is approximately 1,000 people.
The town was founded in 1872 by settlers from the nearby city of Quitman. The name Alba was chosen to honor the first settler's daughter, Alba Smith. The town has remained relatively small over the years and has a rural feel to it.
The main industry in Alba is agriculture, with cotton being the primary crop grown in the area. There are also several small businesses located in town such as a grocery store, hardware store, and a few restaurants.
Alba is home to several parks and recreational areas including Lake Fork Reservoir which offers fishing and boating opportunities for visitors. There are also several churches located throughout the town as well as a public library and post office.
The climate in Alba is generally mild with hot summers and cool winters. The average temperature ranges from highs of around 90 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer months to lows of around 30 degrees Fahrenheit during the winter months.
