Alamo, Texas is a small city located in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. It is situated about 20 miles west of McAllen and about 30 miles east of Brownsville. The city has a population of approximately 18,000 people and is part of Hidalgo County.
Alamo is known for its rich history and culture. It was founded in 1848 by settlers from the United States who were looking to establish a new home in the area. The city was named after the Alamo Mission, which was established nearby in 1718 by Spanish missionaries.
