Springfield, Tennessee Description
Springfield, Tennessee is a small city located in Robertson County, about 30 miles north of Nashville. It is the county seat and has a population of around 16,000 people. The city was founded in 1801 and named after the nearby spring.
The city is known for its historic downtown area, which features many old buildings from the 19th century. There are several parks and recreational areas in Springfield, including the Greenway Trail System, which offers walking and biking trails along the Cumberland River. The city also has a number of museums and galleries, including the Robertson County Historical Museum and the Springfield Art Gallery.
The economy of Springfield is largely based on agriculture and manufacturing. The city is home to several large companies such as Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire LLC, Kellogg's Snacks Division, and Tyson Foods Inc., as well as smaller businesses like local restaurants and shops.
