Lewisburg, Tennessee Description
Lewisburg, Tennessee is a small city located in Marshall County, about an hour south of Nashville. It is the county seat and has a population of around 11,000 people. The city was founded in 1843 and named after explorer Meriwether Lewis.
The city is known for its historic downtown area, which features many buildings from the 19th century. There are several restaurants, shops, and galleries to explore. The downtown area also hosts several festivals throughout the year such as the Goats, Music & More Festival and the World's Biggest Fish Fry.
The city is home to several parks including Rock Creek Park which offers hiking trails, picnic areas, and a playground. The Lewisburg Recreation Center offers swimming pools, basketball courts, tennis courts, and other recreational activities for all ages.
Lewisburg is also home to several educational institutions including Marshall County High School and Columbia State Community College. The city also has a vibrant arts scene with several galleries and performance venues such as the Dixie Theatre and the Marshall Arts Center.
